James Leo Wright, 90, of Beecher City passed away at 5:42 a.m. Monday (May 11, 2015) at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health care Center, Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Beecher City. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery near Beecher City.

He was born December 31, 1924 in Fayette County the son of Isaac Noah and Gladys Ellen (Kelly) Wright. He married Glapha Dunaway November 27, 1953 in Beecher City and she preceded him in death March 27, 1990.

He was a retired welder on the Norfolk and Southern Railroad. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the Navy and member of the Shelbyville VFW Post # 4829. He loved to hunt and fish and watch the St. Louis Cardinals.

Surviving are daughters, Deronda Wright, Cathy Wright and Sherry Wright of Beecher City and Wendy Wright of Dietrich; sons, Rusty Wright and Marvin (Catrina) Wright of Beecher City; sisters, Linda Schuster of Decatur and Frieda Robinson of Neoga; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandson, Jayce, brothers, Dale, Dallas and Walton and sisters, Lela and Wanda.
