Eileen Marie Wetherell, 91 of Shumway, IL, passed away at 3:30 AM Monday June 7, 2010 at the home of her daughter, Carole Herbon, in Goshen, IN.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday June 13, 2010 in Faith Lutheran Church in Shumway.Pastor Jason Rensner will officiate.Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church and from 1:00 PM Sunday until time of the service at the Church.Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Shumway.Arrangements are entrusted to Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson.Memorials can be made to Goshen General Hospital, Hospice Services, 1721 South Main Street, Goshen, IN 46526, Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Shumway IL, Faith Lutheran Church, Shumway, IL or Braille Books of the Bible. Mrs. Wetherell was born June 1, 1919 at Strasburg, IL the daughter of Charles H. and Lena Marie Applet Schultz.
She married Paul Elwyn Wetherell on Oct. 6, 1940 in Shumway and he passed away Feb. 2, 2004.
Mrs. Wetherell was a homemaker and partner in farming with her husband Elwyn.She graduated from Stewardson High School and she loved gardening, flowers, sewing and caring for her family.She was a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church of Shumway. She has served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and member of the Ladies Aid Society.She served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Braille Center at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Effingham.
Surviving are her children: Carole Herbon and husband Tom of Goshen, IN, Dean Wetherell and wife Donna of Shumway, IL and Keith Wetherell and wife April of Plymouth, WI; son-in-law Paul Mall of Hawaii; grandchildren: Mike Wetherell and wife Emily, Treva Wetherell, Deric Wetherell and wife Sheila, Deana Wetherell, Dacia Brown and husband Brian, John Herbon and wife Robin, David Herbon and wife Alissa and Kelsea Mall; great grandchildren: Michael, Mikayla, Ben, Anna, Zachary, Kaelynn, Lauryn, Meredith, Caleb, Sophia, Madelyn, Nathan and Kaden; three step grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; and three step-great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Elwyn, her parents, daughter Charlene Mall, granddaughter Erin Mall and a brother Ivan Schultz
