John Louis Watters, 84, of Windsor passed away at 12:03 p.m. Friday (February 28, 2014) in St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor with Pastor Richard Ratts officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before service time Wednesday. Burial will be in Sand Creek Cemetery, Windsor. Memorials may be made to Mason Point in Sullivan or the Windsor Methodist Church.

He was born June 18, 1929 in Macon County the son of John Henry and Sylvia Lucille (Ratts) Watters. He married Marilyn Lee Cameron June 17, 1951 in Decatur.

He was a member of the Windsor Methodist Church. He was a retired farmer and formerly employed by Young Radiator and Trailmobile. He was an avid sports fan especially the St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Marilyn; children, Robert L. Watters (Gena) of Decatur, Cathy Sousin of Stewardson, Gerald D Watters (Marilyn) of Radom and John E Watters (Cindy) of Claremont; brothers, Steven Watters of Moline and Duane Watters of Davenport, IA; sister, Norma West of Ellisville; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ernest Lee, Ralph Dean and an infant brother.
