June Parthene Wakeland, 85, of Moweaqua passed away at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday (June 20, 2012) at her residence.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Cremation rites will be accorded. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with Rev. Sharon Treptow officiating. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimerís Foundation or First United Methodist Church, Moweaqua.
She was born June 10, 1927 in Shelbyville the daughter of Clement and Ruby (Schwenker) Spear. She married Lloyd Wakeland November 10, 1951 at St. Paulís Lutheran Church in Shelbyville.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Moweaqua. She was formerly employed at Sta-Rite and the Joliet Arsenal. June loved gardening, camping and crafts.
Surviving are her husband, Lloyd; son, Tracy Dean Wakeland of Maroa; grandchildren, Megan Irene Murphy Scherwitz, Jamie Lee Murphy, Nicholas Lloyd Wakeland and Zachary Dean Wakeland; great-grandson Brycen Dean Wakeland; sister, Marceleen Mathais of Kenney.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Julie Parthene Wakeland and Tammy Marlene Murphy, brothers, Dean and Robert Spear, sisters, Zula Hennings and Irene Pierson.
