M. Eleanor Tucker 91 of Cowden, IL, passed peacefully to be with the Lord at 3:45 AM Monday Mar. 28, 2011 in the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont, IL with her family at her side.

Eleanor was born Jan. 12, 1920 in Pembina, ND the daughter of Amos and Nancy Sandberg Jerome.

She married Hadley A. Tucker on Sept. 15, 1938 in Fargo, ND and he passed away April 26, 1989.

Eleanor was a faithful farmerís wife, mother and homemaker.An abundance of hamburgers and baked goods were provided to the many farm hay hands by her.She also worked as a substitute cook at the Cowden Grade School.Eleanor attended the Cowden Free Methodist Church for seventy-three years assisting as a Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school teacher and a member of the Womenís Missionary Society.

She is survived by her children: Terry Tucker of Cowden,Stanley Tucker and wife Carolyn of Carbondale, IL, Brenda Klein and husband Tom of Effingham, IL and MarlysThomas and husbandSatch of Cowden; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and ten great great grandchildren; sisters: Doris Swanson and husband Don of Savage, MN, Ruth Humble and Dorothy Kalka of Grand Forks, ND; sisters-in-law Fern Stoneburner of Herrick, IL Lois Shipp of Ulman, MO, Mary Tucker of Cowden and Norberta Jerome of Portland. ME; many, nieces nephews and cousins.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Hadley, parents, and brothers Leonard, LaVerne and Hona.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday April 2, 2011 in the Cowden Free Methodist Church.Pastor Steve Neville and Pastor Lynette DeAtley will officiate.Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM Friday at the Church. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Altamont Lutheran Care Center of Altamont and the Cowden Free Methodist Church.Arrangements are entrusted to the Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden.On line condolences may be made to the family at www.lockartgreenfuneralhome.com
