David L. Tucker 72 of Lerna, IL, formerly of Beecher City, IL, passed away at 9:07 PM Tuesday Oct. 22, 2013 in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Coles County, IL
David was born January 26, 1941in Shelby County, Illinois the son of Willie L. “Bill” and Berniece Selock Tucker.
He married Linda L. Day on May 13, 1962 in Decatur, IL.
David was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Dallas, TX. He served his country during the Vietnam War in United States Air Force as a member of the 305 Bomb Wing of the Strategic Air Command.
He was a graduate of the DeVry Institute in Chicago, IL and completed many courses in electronics and radio technology.He was a former manager for consumer products manager and former director the Command Performance Nationwide Network of the General Electric Company. David had an entrepreneural spirit. He then started, owned and operated Alternative Communications in Lerna, IL.
He was devoted to his family and enjoyed fishing and playing his guitar.
Surviving are his wife Linda; mother Berniece of Sullivan, IL; children: Darin (Cheryl) Tucker of Lerna, IL,Mark (Tracey) Tucker of St Michael, MN and Noel (Traci) Tucker of Monticello, IL;grandchildren: Dylan Tucker and Spencer Tuckerof Monticello, IL, Tyler Tucker, Aleah Tucker and Laine Tucker of St. Michael, MN; step-grandchildren: Kenneth (Sammi) Douglas of Leroy, IL and Jessica(Brian) Jennings of Ft. Campbell, KY; step great grandchildren: Christina Douglas and Gavin Douglas; daughter-in-law Joy Tucker of Altamont, IL; brother Lloyd Loy of Carthage, MO; sisters: Esther Ihlenberg of Westminster, SC; and Sue (John) Durbin of Lovington, IL and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Father.
