Billy Lee Speagle, 60, of Beecher City passed away at home on Wednesday March 24, 2010.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Beecher City with Pastor Paul Bauer officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Graceland/ Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to the family.

Bill was born in Decatur, IL at St. Mary’s Hospital to Billy Andrew and Elnora Mae (Campbell) Speagle.He married Rita Lee Clark on Valentine’s Day, 1985.

He was a graduate of Dwight Eisenhower High School class of 1969.He worked for Speagle Electric, Decatur, and later owned his own auto recovery service, B&M Auto Recovery out of Borton, IL.He worked at the Charleston Speedway outside of Charleston, IL for 20 years and retired from there in 2007. He was currently serving a four-year term as Village Trustee for the Village of Beecher City.

He enjoyed fishing, playing pool for the APA, and watching old movies, with Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, and Chuck Norris.He was a fan of NASCAR, Monster Jam, and WWE wrestling.More than anything else he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his Aunt Ruth, and grandson, Justin.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Rita, sons, Billy Andrew Speagle, Jr.of Beecher City, Scott Speagle of Mt. Zion. daughters, Jodi Speagle (Doty) of Decatur,Shannon Speagle of Decatur,Monica Speagle (Shannon) of Marshall, IL,Joleen Speagle (Stark) of Beecher City.Stepsons Brian Solt, wife Beth, of Casey, IL, Gary Speagle of Atwood.Also by his grandchildren, Carissa, Nathan, Anthony Paul, Megan, Catrina, Dayna, Nefretiri, Allyson, Ezzy, Abby, and Canaan, sister, Beverly Speagle (Bray) of Decatur , uncle, Milford Robb of Mt. Zion
