Pansy Shoemaker, 98, of Windsor passed away 2:20 a.m. Friday (August 20, 2010) at the Shelbyville Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor with Rev. Richard Eident officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Windsor Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Windsor Christian Church or the donor’s choice.
She was born August 20, 1912 in Coles Co. the daughter of Albert A. and Sarah Catherine (Thomas) Shadow. She married William Glen Price August 5, 1931 and he preceded her in death March 8, 1960. She then married James R. (Bob) Shoemaker June 29, 1964 and he preceded her in death April 30, 1996.
Pansy was a member of the Windsor Christian Church for over 50 years, a Licensed Practical Nurse at the old Mattoon Hospital for 13 years and a member of the “Sour Notes” and “Just for Fun” string bands. She enjoyed playing the guitar and organ in various bands for over 70 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Ellen Sweeney of Windsor, 4 step children, James Shoemaker (Cheryl) of California, Keith Shoemaker (Judy) of Nokomis, Barbara Pearson of Nokomis and Alwilta Pearson of Loami; 2 grandchildren, Michael Sweeny (Collen) of Bethany and Teresa Flash (Brennon) of Papillion, NE; 5 great-grandchildren; 16 step grandchildren; 29 stepgreat-grandchildren; 14 step great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, 2 brothers, 7 sisters and 3 step children and 2 step grandchildren.
