Phyllis J. Sexson, 85, of Windsor died at 1:20 p.m. Thursday (October 11, 2012) at the Shelbyville Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Windsor Christian Church with Rev. Richard Eident officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will be in the Ash Grove Cemetery near Windsor. Arrangements are by Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor. Memorials may be made to the Windsor Christian Church or the family.
She was born July 29, 1927 in Shelbyville the daughter of Cleve and Edna (Lupton) Peek. She married Mac Sexson on October 13, 1946 in Shelbyville and he survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Sudy Shafer and husband Albert of Windsor and Sharla Hooten and husband Danny of Gays; grandchildren, Lori Bennett of Windsor and Andy Hooten and Marc Hooten of Gays; great-grandchildren, Autumn Bennett and Beau Bennett of Windsor and Mackenzee Hooten of Gays; sister, Edith Maxwell of Windsor; sister-in-law, Joan Guyot and husband John of Arcola; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Warren Peek and one granddaughter.
She was a member of the Windsor Christian Church and the Windsor American Legion Auxiliary. She formerly worked for Dr. S. D. Taylor in Windsor and was co-owner of the Windsor State Bank.
