Ronald Eugene Scholz, 49, of Shelbyville died Monday (April 30, 2012) in a accident in Moultrie County.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday and one hour before service time Saturday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pana with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Shelbyville Boys Baseball or Shelbyville High School Athletics.

He was born October 27, 1962 in Decatur the son of Carl Robert and Barbara Jane (Hayes) Scholz.

He served in the US Army and was employed at Custom Tanks in Arthur. He was an avid sports fan, coaching baseball, softball, JFL and basketball and was a referee and umpire. He loved spending time on the river, reading, history and motorcycles. Ronís children and grandchildren were the center of his life.

Surviving are his children, Destany Dawn Lucas and Megan Irene Lucas of Shelbyville, Brady Ronald Schloz, Sadie Mae Schloz and Torry Christian Schloz of Carbondale; grandchildren, Ty Zerrusen, Gage Smith and Hadley Smith; mother, Barbara Jane Barror of Assumption; siblings, Carla (Ralph) Wilcox of Los Lunas, NM, Robert (Jan) Schloz of Decatur, Carl (Connie) Schloz of Moweaqua and Tami (Kent) Smith of Shelbyville; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl, grandparents, Carl Christian Schloz, Pauline Schloz Austin, Julia LaVerne Hayes, Herschel V. Hayes and niece, Alison Wilcox.
