Irma Valentine (Anderson) Sarver, 91, of Cowden passed away at 1:48 a.m. Friday (January 28, 2011) in her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the First Christian Church of Cowden with Rev. Kevin Bonifacius officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Buchanan Cemetery, Herrick. Memorials may be made to the Fayette County Hospice. Arrangements are by Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Cowden.

Irma was born on February 14, 1919 near Ramsey to William (Bert) and Linnie (Hipkins) Anderson. She was united in marriage on April 2, 1941 to Lester G. Sarver in St. Charles, Missouri and he preceded her in death on March 11, 2000..

Surviving children are, Sandy Pettyjohn (Milton), Gary Sarver (Barb) of Cowden and Sherry Buzzard (Ronnie) of Beecher City. She is survived by 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren, sisters Lois Jones (Bill) of Beecher City, Betty Riley (Harry) of Buckeye, Arizona and Helen Lakin of Surprise, Arizona, brother Bob Anderson (Shirley) of Carmel, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Nellie and Dorothey, brothers Charles, Van and Albert, Jr. and great-grandson, Michael.
