Thomas Allen “Tom” Roadarmel, 67, of Beecher City passed away at 1:35 p.m. Monday (November 24, 2014) at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.

Tom was born Mar. 11, 1947 in Effingham, IL the son of Carl D. and Lorene M. Specht Roadarmel.

He married Maggie Borre on Jan. 24, 1970 in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Effingham.

Tom served his country in Viet Namas Sgt. First Class in the U.S. Army Air Cavalry.

He was lifelong farmer and worked as a postal employee in the Effingham Post Office and then later as Postmaster in the Beecher City Post Office.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Cowden and American Legion Post # 0535 of Beecher City.

Surviving are his wife Maggie; mother Lorene of Cowden

; children: Amy Roadarmel of Branson, MO and Todd Roadarmel of O’Fallon, MO; brother: Larry (Sandy) Roadarmel of Beecher City; nephew: Lee (Jessica) Roadarmel of Beecher City; great nephews: Lance and Luke Roadarmel .

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday Nov. 29, 2014 in the First Christian Church of Cowden. Pastor Nathan Harper will officiate.Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM Friday in the Church.Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden.Military rites will be performed by the Shelby County Honor Guard.Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Cowden.On line condolences: www.lockartgreenfuneralhome.com
