Billie Duane Riley, 86, of Herrick passed away at 3:00 p.m. Sunday (February 5, 2012) at St. Johnís Hospital, Springfield.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Cowden. Burial will be in Victorville, CA at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Herrick First Responders.

Mr. Riley was born September 17, 1925 in Shelby County the son of Harry Lester and Opal Marie (Hunter) Riley. He married Lois N Coslor of Los Angeles, CA January 30, 1945 and she preceded him in death April 11, 2002.

He was a plastering contractor in California for over 30 years. He served in the US Navy, member of the VFW, past President of the California Park and Recreation and was involved in stock car racing.

Surviving are son, Steven Riley and wife, Joyce of Herrick; daughter, Lois Marie Whited and husband, Billy of Hesperia, CA; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Harry L. Riley of Arizona and Paul Riley of Herrick; sister, Rosemary Cosart of Effingham.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Nyllene, grandson, Billie Whited, brothers, Charles, Mert, Oscar and Woody Riley and sisters, Opal Adams, Ruth Adams and Mae Carson.
