Rodney Ray Preston, 54, of Montrose formerly of Shelbyville died Friday (April 6, 2012) at his residence.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville with masonic rites at 8:00 p.m. Cremation will follow. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard.
He was born July 1, 1957 in Shelbyville the son of Harold and Mildred (Hill) Preston.
He was formerly a member of ABATE and the Shelbyville Masonic Lodge. He served 16 years in the US Army and National Guard in the 101st Airborne Division. He was formerly employed at Effingham Equity and loved motorcycles.
Surviving are his son, Johnathon Preston of Montrose; daughter, Katie (Bob) Rigg of Mattoon; grandchildren, Elijah, Delaney and Jordon Preston, Bob, Aedan and Hailie Rigg.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
