Minor “Sonny” Parks, 76, of Shelbyville died Wednesday (November 19, 2014) at the Shelby Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Shelbyville. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

He was born November 11, 1938 in Mt. Pulaski the son of Minor Lee and Bessie (Summers) Parks.

He was formerly employed at MJ Wilson Ford and operated a car dealership and junk yards in Shelbyville, Lakewood and Beecher City. He loved auctions and buying, selling and trading anything.

Surviving are sons, Wayne Parks, Jim Parks (Deb), Larry Parks (Jodie Knearem) and Daryl Bloxom all of Shelbyville; daughter-in-law, Melissa Parks of Shelbyville; brother, Bill Parks of Shelbyville; sisters, Edna Downs of Shelbyville and Betty Wilson of Texas; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Terry Parks, brother, Danny, sisters, Lola and Mary Ann and half-brother, Ted Summers.
