Alice V. Nobbe, 92, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 1:05 PM Tuesday Oct. 28, 2014 in the Shelbyville Manor in Shelbyville where she lived for over six years.

Alice was born April 6, 1922 in Oak Park, IL the daughter of Raymond and Faustine Pilcher Meddaugh.

She married Eugene H. Seyfert Feb. 4, 1944 in Ft. Terry, NY while serving in the Women’s Army Corp during WWII.He passed away on Feb. 18, 1969.She married Ernst Nobbe on May 23, 1975 and he passed away on August 16, 1997.

She was a corporate accountant.She retired from Jewell-Osco Corporation in Franklin Park, IL.

She was a member of the American Legion.She enjoyed gardening, dancing and traveling.

Alice is survived by her children: Eugene (Judy) Seyfert of Shelbyville, Edmond (Geraldine) Seyfert of Bolingbrook, IL, Sharon Nalezny of the Chicago area and Susan (James) Brady of Gilbert, AZ; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husbands: Eugene and Ernst, parents: Raymond and Faustine Meddaugh; granddaughter; Anna Marie Seyfert; brothers: Raymond Meddaugh and Earl Meddaugh; son-in-law Joseph Nalezny; sisters-in-law Esther Meddaugh and Loris Meddaugh.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday Nov. 8, 2014 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shelbyville.Father Don Wolford will officiate.Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville with a prayer service at4:30 PM and from 10:00 AM Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.Graveside services will be held on at 2:00 PM Monday Nov. 10, 2014 in Oakridge Cemetery in Hillside, IL.Memorials may be made in Alice’s memory to Saving Orphaned Animals of Shelbyville or the Illinois Raptor Center of Decatur.
