Charles E. Myers, 70, of Windsor passed away at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday (August 18, 2020) at the Golden Moments Senior Care Center, Jacksonville.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday in the Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor. Visitation will be from noon until service time. Burial will be in Whitfield Cemetery, Moultrie Co. with military rites. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born November 10, 1939 in Moultrie Co. the son of Pearl William and Susan (Garnett) Myers. He married Brenda Aiken, March 18, 1958 in Sullivan and she preceded him in death, August 16, 1994.
He served in US Marines as a Lance Corporal. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses and retired from Agri-Fab in Sullivan. He was an avid collector of old coins, knives, swords and pens and pencils. He loved fishing and camping with family and friends.
Surviving are daughter, Sherri Gottman of Windsor; grandson, Michael Wernsing (Shaunnah) of Windsor; great-grandsons, Christian and Gunner; sister, Rosie Levitt of Sullivan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Joyce Irene, brother, John and sister, Kate.
