Anna Mary Majors, 81 years old, a resident of Effingham passed away Monday (March 4, 2012) at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Effingham, IL with her family by her side.

She was born September 18, 1931 in Decatur, IL to Alice Vance Wiles and Luther J. Wiles. She married Robert Vincent Majors November 11, 1949 in Decatur, IL. She retired after many years of service from State of Illinois Mental Health.

She is survived by her loving family, daughter, Peggy Jo Ross of Warrensburg, IL; sons, Michael Robert Majors of Beecher City, IL and Curt Steven Majors (Dr. Andrew J Dauer) of Windermere, FL; sister, Janet Kay Amos (Edward) of Dunnellon, FL; grandchildren, Robert Anthony “Tony” Majors (Jaida) of Vandalia, IL, Carrie Ann Burks (Jacob Shane) of Beecher City, IL, Matthew Brian Majors (Courtney) of Mattoon, IL, Christie Lynn Gibrich (Christopher) of Grand Prairie, TX and Scott Alan Ross of Peoria, IL; great grandchildren, Zachary and Carsen Burks, Evan Majors, Erika Blackwell and Max Dominic Majors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Vincent Majors, parents Alice F. and William A. Schirmer, brother, Rodger Dean Wiles, best friend, Dorothy Mae Hopkins and special children, Nancy Diann Majors and Ronald Lee Ross.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Fr. Don Wolford officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden, IL. Memorials may be made to the St. Judes Children’s Hospital.

She will always be remembered by her beautiful smile and her love of flowers and Florida.
