Mary Jane Lash 89 of Shelbyville, IL, went to be with the Lord and many other family members and friends Tuesday Mar. 16, 2010 at 7:15 AM in the Shelbyville Manor in Shelbyville, IL.

Mary Jane was born Sept. 26, 1920 in Moweaqua, IL. the daughter of Wayne and Laura Humphrey Jacobs.

She married Everett C. Lash Aug. 27, 1939 in Moweaqua and he passed away May 19,


Mary Jane was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Moweaqua where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years and was an active member of the Women’s Missionary organization.She was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Shelbyville for many years.She was a charter member of the Penn Township Unit of Shelby County Homemakers Extension. She was a member of the Christian Women’s Club of Decatur, IL. and hosted many Friendship Bible Coffees in Moweaqua and Shelbyville,Formerly , she was aloyal and active member of the Shelby Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.

Mary Jane was a graduate of Moweaqua High School in the Class of 1938 and Sparks Business College in Shelbyville.She devoted her life to family, community, church and the Lord.

Surviving are sons; J. Mark Lash and wife Carolyn of Findlay, Il. and E. Allen Lash and wife, Yvonne of Brighton, IL.; grandchildren: Andrea Nutley and husband Adrian of Houston, TX, Angela Pool and husband Todd of Lubbock, TX, Matthew Lash of Findlay and Dr. Leanne Lash Van Wyhe and husband Matt of Grandeville, MI; great grandchildren: Josh Pool, Natalie Pool and Aaron Pool; brother Kenneth Jacobs and wife, Irma of Assumption, IL; several nieces and nephews. The family is grateful to care-giver Sandy Dorsey and the staff at the Shelbyville Manor and the Hawthorne Inn who did much to assist Mom in her final days.We thank you.

She was preceded in death by her husband Everett, grandson Jeremy Lash; her parents Wayne and Laura Jacobs, brother Keith Wayne Jacobs and sister Eleanor Curry.

The accomplishments of Everett and Mary Jane’s lives are numerous.They were terrific parents, good neighbors and friend to many.The family is humbled by their life experiences.They instilled great values, encouraged and supported each of us.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday Mar. 20, 2010 in the First Baptist Church in Moweaqua and visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday in Lockart – Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville and one hour before the service in the church on Saturday.
