Jill A. Lacheta, age 57, of Shelbyville, IL peacefully passed away in the presence of family at Decatur Memorial Hospital at 11:21 am on 10-09-14 after a brief battle with cancer.

Jill was born on May 26, 1957 to R. Keith and Sara Jackson Stiver of Fairbury, IL. She graduated Fairbury-Cropsey High School in 1975. She worked at the coil factory and steel factory in Fairbury until marrying Ed Lacheta of Chicago Heights, IL in May of 1980 and settled in Shelbyville IL where they have remained to the present. The couple had two children, born in 1980 and 1987. In the late 1990s Jill worked for Theodore Little, M.D. for approximately 12 years and then for the Substance Abuse Department of Shelby County Community Services until her illness.

Jill was known for her unselfish concern, caring and kindness to all persons she encountered. She has been one of those rare individuals that knew no enemies and regularly experienced people sharing with her on a very personal level from first meeting her and often times felt rather blessed for the experience. Jill is and avid Bears, NASCAR, Illini and Cubs fan an aspiring gourmet. She is a very difficult person to forget and equally difficult person to say good-bye to.

Jill is survived by her husband Ed; her children Nathan and Maggie; her brothers Jim and Jeff Stiver; and her dear mother Sara Stiver. She is preceded by her father; her grandmothers Aldine Stiver and Helen Jackson; her beloved Dad-in-law Ed Sr. and her much adored dog Striker.

Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville and from 11:00 a.m. until till noon Monday at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be made to the Shelby County Community Services, Inc.
