Helen L. Kelly, 74, of Shelbyville passed away at 6:12 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 22, 2011) in the Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be made to the Shelby County Humane Society or the Disabled Veterans.
She was born October 1, 1936 in Shelbyville the daughter of Floyd and Beulah (Reynolds) Barnett. She married George Kelly August 4, 1956 in Shelbyville and he preceded her in death January 15, 2010.
Helen graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1954. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Shelbyville and a member of the Polar Bear Camping Club. She was formerly employed at Illinois Consolidated Telephone Company. She enjoyed camping, visiting with family and friends and dedicated her life to her husband.
Surviving are son, Michael Kelly of Shelbyville; sister-in-laws, Edna Jane Banning of Shelbyville and Bessie Slifer of Mode; brother-in-law, Ray Kelly (Marsha) of Windsor; nieces and nephews and cousins; her dog, Duke and her cats, Baxter and Blackie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
