C. Elbert Isley 81, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 6:25 PM Monday Sept. 13, 2010 in Shelby Memorial Hospital in Shelbyville.

Elbert was born Jan. 26, 1929 at Mt Zion, IL the son of Cloren and Daisy Nixon Isley.

He married Jewell E. Powers Nov. 4, 1951 and she passed away Aug. 28, 2003.He met Jo Ann Gregg in 2004 and they were married and they enjoyed six wonderful years together.

Elbert attended the First United Methodist Church in Shelbyville, was a member of the Shelby County Farm Bureau, and was a member of the Senior Shuffler shuffle board club.Elbert, formerly attended Sparks College in Shelbyville.He enjoyed spending winters in Haines City, FL with Jo Ann and his Florida friends.

Elbert served his country in the United States Army as a corporal in the 28th Infantry Division in West Germany during the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife Jo Ann; sons Dirk Isley and wife Phyllis of Clarksburg, IL and Dennis Isley and wife Kathy of Shelbyville; step-son Jeff Gregg and wife Maggie of Shelbyville; step-daughters: Julie Hodson of West Memphis, AK and Jill Sluss of Shelbyville; grandchildren: Adam Isley and wife Jessie, Evan Isley, Kim Wood and husband Jeff, Amanda Isley, Keetra Orsborn, and Kaylee Isley; great grandson: Benjamin Isley; great –granddaughterRyann Wood;step-grandchildren: Sierra Gregg, Dylan Gregg, Derek Phillips, Cody Phillips, Jennifer Gregg, Richard Sluss, Justin Brown and Eric Hodson; step-great grandchildren: Taylor Brown and Jackson Hodson; brother Joe Isley ofDenver, CO.

Elbert was precededin death by his wife Jewell, parents Cloren and Daisy Isley, infant son David, sisterLetha Miller; brother Aubrey Isley in WWII.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday Sept. 17, 2010 in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville.Rev. Lee Lovett will officiate.Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday.Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville.Military rites will be performed by the Shelby County Honor Guard.Memorials can be made to the Shelbyville Senior Citizens Center.On line condolences may be directed to the family at www.lockartgreenfuneralhome.com
