Lawrence I. (Larry) Hartman, 72, of Decatur passed away peacefully in his sleep at home at 1:22 p.m. Thursday (June 12, 2014).
Larry was born January 24 1942, in Decatur the son of Chester and Clara (Strong) Hartman. He graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1961 and EIU Driving School.
He retired after 15 ½ years from First National Bank in the Property Maintenance Department and owned and operated H & H Heating. He had been and over the road trucker.
He was married 48 years to Linda (Vadakin) Hartman married on March 18, 1966 in Decatur. From this union a son was born, Mitch. When Mitch married Kris Brosend in 1994, Larry accepted her as a daughter. Life was complete when grandson, Brandon was born. Larry thought the sun rose and sat in these three. Larry enjoyed fishing and making wooden toys.
Larry’s wish was to be cremated and have a private graveside service.
He is survived by wife, Linda, son Mitch (Kris) and grandson Brandon of Moweaqua, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Randy Hartman and sister Arletta Gentry.
Arrangements are by Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Findlay. Memorials may be made to the South Wheatland Fire Department.
