Dorothy Madge Harris, 91, of Shelbyville formerly of Findlay passed away at 9:15 p.m. Friday (June 1, 2012) at the Shelbyville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Findlay. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 Tuesday. Burial will be in the Findlay Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
Dorothy was born May 12, 1921 in Shelby County the daughter of James Ray and Della Hazel (Erb) Jordan. She married Burl Higgins and he preceded her in death in 1944. She then married Estel Harris, September 30, 1946 and he preceded her in death December 10, 2004 after 58 years of marriage.
She worked at Sta-Rite and was a waitress at the House That Jack Built in Findlay. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Findlay.
She leaves children, Joyce (Jon) Bell of Sullivan, Dennis (Kay) Harris of Shelbyville and Diane (Don) White of Shelbyville. She also leaves four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother Jake and infant son, Jimmy.
