E. Alice (Atkinson) Dawdy Hadwin 101, of Shelbyville, formerly of Findlay, IL passed away at 4:50 AM Saturday April17, 2010 in Shelby Memorial Hospital in Shelbyville.

Alice was born Dec. 30, 1908 in Shelbyville, the daughter of Thomas A. and Janetta Ann Marshall Atkinson.

She married Oliver Hugh (Bus) Dawdy on Oct. 12, 1936 in Decatur, IL and he passed away June 3, 1976.She married David H. Hadwin in 1991 in Shelbyville and he passed away June 29, 1996.

Alice was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville and a former member of the United Methodist Church of Findlay.

Alice was a homemaker for her family, and in later years, enjoyed babysitting many children in the Findlay area before she later moved to Shelbyville.She loved sewing and baking.

Surviving are her son Ben Dawdy and wife Carol of Shelbyville; step-children: David M Hadwin, Milo Hadwin and wife Karen and Doris Rhodes; grandchildren: Kevin Dawdy and wife Libbe of Germantown Hills, IL, KristaHerman and husband Erik of Sarasota, FL and Elaine Hardy of Vincennes, IN; eight great grandchildren; sister Mary Uphoff of Findlay; sister-in-law Ellen Atkinson of Effingham.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Oliver (Bus) Dawdy and David H. Hadwin, daughter-in-law Sandra Dawdy, her parents, four sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday April 21, 2010 in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Findlay. Rev. Lee Lovett will officiate.Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to time of the service Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Findlay Cemetery, Findlay, IL.
