Roy Sampson Goff, 77, of Pana passed away Tuesday (March 18, 2014) at the Prairie Rose Care Center, Pana.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Pastor Ron Brown officiating. Visitation will be one hour before service time. Burial will be in Myers Cemetery, Herrick. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

He was born June 16, 1936 in Shelby County the son of Roy and Laverta (Smith) Goff. He married Mary Margaret Allen July 29, 1965 in Shelby County.

He was a member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, Lakewood and served as mayor of Herrick for 8 years.. He formerly owned Goff Termite Control and Eagle Basement Water Control in Pana. He loved work, playing cards, going to coffee shops and CB radios.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; sons, David (Sande) Goff of Tucson, AZ and Leon (Kay) Goff of Pana; daughter, Scelina (Jim) Ellenberg of Tower Hill; grandchildren, Abigail Goff of Tuscon, AZ, Jennifer Goff of San Francisco, CA, Justin (Sarah) Goff of St. Louis, Matthew (Twyla) Goff of Pana, Rachel (Will) Kindermann of Killeen, TX, Aaron (Jennifer) Mathis of Pana, Jacob (Ashlie) Mathis ofPana and Joe (Tonya) Ellenberg of Pana; 7 great-granddaughters; sister, Amanda (Wayne) Allen of Sikeston, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cynthia Miller.
