Jesse Gill Jr. 73, of Windsor, IL, formerly of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 12:01 AM Thursday Nov. 24, 2011 in Shelbyville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Shelbyville, IL. Jesse was born January 9, 1938 in Shelby County the son of Jesse and Helen Barnhart Gill.
He married Kathy Mingus and she passed away Oct. 27, 1970.
He was employed at Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Decatur, IL for 30 Years.Later he operated an antique business specializing in collector guns, clocks and fishing gear.
Jesse served his country in the United States Army in Laos before the Vietnam War began.He was a lifetime member of the Shelbyville VFW Post # 81, a 33rd Degree Mason and a member of the Shelbyville Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are brothers: Roy Gill and wife Laverne of Shelbyville and Harold Gill and wife Jewell of Shelbyville; sister Mary Bieber of Lakewood, IL; sister-in-law Naomi Gill of Shelbyville and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Kathy, parents, brother Robert Gill and brother-in-law Dick Bieber.
