Raymond Forrest Foor, 95, of Tower Hill passed away at 6:45 a.m. Sunday (July 25, 2010) in the Shelbyville Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Derrick Ritchie officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in the Tower Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Tower Hill Christian Church or the Tower Hill Cemetery Association.
Raymond was born August 11, 1914 in Tower Hill the son of Wiley and Lottie (McKittrick) Foor. He married Marjorie Lee, April 13, 1937 in Shelbyville and she preceded him in death, June 18, 1997.
Raymond attended Tower Hill schools and later as a young man worked in the El Paso, IL and Clinton, IL areas. He farmed all his life in the Tower Hill area. He was a member of the Flying Farmers of America, and until the last several years, still held a pilotís license for small planes. He enjoyed traveling. His family was very important to him. He attended the Tower Hill Christian Church all of his married life and gave his life to Christ in December, 2008.
Surviving are sons, Kimble Foor (Rella) of Lakewood and Keith Foor (Sandy) of Tower Hill; daughters, Carleen Hardy (Charles) and Shela Hicks (Gary) both of Tower Hill, grandchildren, Teresa Little, Stacey Foor, Denise Foor, Vicky Wagner, Clay Hardy, Luke Hardy, Chad Hardy, Matthew Hardy, Daphne Rodman, Jacob Hicks, Mindy Hendrickson, Jason Foor, Nathan Foor, Nick Foor and Neil Foor; 30 great-grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren;brother, Paul Foor (Barbara) of Bradenton, FL; sister-in-law, Joyce Stratton (Bill) of Mattoon and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Glen Foor and Clarence Foor and sisters, Alpha Lockard, Nellie Mathias and Margaret Hirsch.
