John Russell (Buck) Dunaway 82 of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 11:30 AM Thursday May 6, 2010 in his home.

John was born Aug. 28, 1927 near Brownstown, IL the son of Carl and Mary Gertrude Simmons Dunaway.

He married Mary Carroll Dec. 30, 1948 in Shelbyville.

John was a machinist by trade and worked at Sta-Rite Ginnie Lou Corporation, then for Oliver Corporation for 29 years and then at P& H Manufacturing, all in Shelbyville.Later he worked as a groundskeeper at Eagle Creek State Park on Lake Shelbyville.

Surviving are his wife Mary; daughter Mary Ann Jarvis and husband Rocky of Rochester, IL; sons Roger Dunaway and wife Sharlene of Trilla, IL and Joe Dunaway of Shelbyville; grandchildren: Matthew Aaron Jarvis and Amanda Renee Jarvis bothof Rochester and Landon Elizah Dunaway of Trilla; step grandchildren: Heather Amber Lucas and Jennifer Joann Wilson both of Mattoon, IL; step-great grandson: Elias Isaiah Lucas of Mattoon; sisters Mary Anderson of Sullivan, IL and Charlotte Blancett and partner Jerry McMurray of Decatur, IL; brothersJim Dunaway and wife Ruthof Champaign, ILand Jake Dunaway and partner Patricia Herpstreith of Owaneco, IL; brother-in-law Leo Wright of Beecher City, IL; sister-in-law Penny Gibison ofMissouri; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Judith Elaine Dunaway, his parents, brother and sister-in-law Phon Evans and wife Verna, brother and sister-in-law William A. Dunaway and wife Irene, sister and brother-in-law Julia Gibison and husband Buddy, sister Glapha Wright, brother-in-law Charles Anderson and sister-in-law Odessa Dunaway.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday May 11, 2010 in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville.Gary Crowder will officiate.Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.  The family requests casual attire.  Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery near Findlay.Memorials can be made in honor of Buck to the Donorís Choice.On line condolences may be directed to the family at
