Theron Eldon Doss, 89, of Windsor passed on at his home on Tuesday, June 10. He was born in Akersville, Kentucky to Jack and Alma (Stinson)Doss. As a young boy heworked in the family tobacco fields before heading to Illinois at the age 15. Soon after arriving he felt the call to serve his country but had to wait until he was old enough. He went on to join the United States Army during World War II.

On July 1, 1944 while stationed in Texas, Theron married Helen Miller of Lovington, Illinois. Seventy years of marriage out lasted trials, tribulations, and great loss to result in outstanding examples of true, unconditional love.

Theron later worked for Shanks Road Oil Company in Mattoon and then drove a semi for Dick Baugher and Bennett Grain. He was an avid fisherman and St. Louis Cardinal's fan who also loved running the schnooker tables at the pool halls in Windsor. He loved, most of all, family gatherings which would always involve a friendly game of poker and his leaving with a heavier change bag.

Surviving are his wife, daughter Rosemary Courtwright and husband Ed of Sullivan, son David and wife Toni of Scottsdale, AZ, son Kevin and wife Lisa of Windsor, and daughter Shelly Clotfelter and husband Jess of Windsor. He was the proud grandfather of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was proceeded in death by five brothers, two sisters, and two daughters.

The family would like to thank Lincolnland Hospice for their care and support. Graveside services will be set by the family at a later date. Please make any memorials in Theron's honor to the Garrett Baldridge Post 725 America Legion of Windsor.
