Virginia W. Cook, 75, of Windsor passed away at 2:35 a.m. Monday (March 10, 2014) in the Sullivan Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor with Rev. Richard Eident officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. The family requests casual attire. Burial will be in the Windsor Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donorís choice.

She was born July 14, 1938 in Dietrich the daughter of James Riley and Thelma (Campton) McWhorter. She married Richard L. Cook October 29, 1956 in Effingham.

She was affiliated with Smyser Christian Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and being with her family.

Surviving are her husband, Richard; sons, Gary (Anna) Cook of Mattoon, Richard (Paulie) Cook of Salem, Rick (Billie) Cook of Coles Station, Les (Brenda) Cook of Windsor and Bryon (Beth) Cook of Sullivan; sisters, Lucille (Charlie) Tarpley of Flora, Leona Butts of South Haven, MI and Cleta Colclasure of Farina; brothers, Billy (friend, Pat) McWhorter of Louisville, Larry (Linda) McWhorter of  Dietrich and Jerry (Donna) McWhorter of Montrose; half brother, Leroy Campton of Altamont; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Brenda Cook and brothers, James Riley McWhorter and Lonnie McWhorter.
