Phyllis G. Chapman 81, of Shelbyville, IL formerly of Schoolcraft, MI passed away at 4:40 PM Monday Dec. 15, 2014 in Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville, IL.

Phyllis was born Sept. 6, 1933 in Niles, MI the daughter of Lloyd F. and Katherine Franz Noggle.

She married Vaughan E. Chapman on June 28, 1953 in Niles, MI and he passed away on June 2, 1991.

Phyllis received a Bachelor of Science as aRegistered Medical Technician from Western Michigan University.She was employed as a Medical Technician, initially, in the office of Dr. James Brennamen in Galesburg, MI , then in the Portage Medical Clinic in Portage, MI and finally at Shelby Memorial Hospital when she and Vaughan relocated to Shelbyville.

Phyllis was an accomplished pianist and organist, and played in local churches in the area they were living at the time.

Phyllis was a member of the Westervelt Christian Church in Westervelt, IL and was a licensed airplane pilot.

Surviving are daughters: Wendy E. (Doug) Powers and Marla K. Weller both of Shelbyville; grandchildren: Keith (Amanda) Powers, Amanda (Jim VanWinkle) Goatley, Douglas Vaughan (Mary) Powers, Victoria (Dustin) McDonald and Gregory Powers; great grandchildren: Lillie, Caleb, Maxwell, Benjamin and Jackson; brothers: Francis (Nancy) Noggle of Rochester, MI and Russell (Joanna) Noggle of Waxahachie, TX; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law: Mary Pion of Otsego, MI, Gary Chapman of Bellview, MI and Mike Chapman of Fowler, IN and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vaughan and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday Dec. 19, 2014 in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville.Rev. Dean Cripe and Rev. Roger Quarton will officiate.Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday.Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville.Memorials may be made to the Westervelt Christian Church or the Donorís choice.On line condolence: www.lockartgreenfuneralhome.com
