William Jay Cazier 92, of rural Windsor, IL passed away at 6:45 AM Thursday Mar. 15, 2012 in the Curtis Creek Retirement and Living Center in Quincy, IL.
Mr. Cazier was born Oct. 29, 1919 near Findlay, IL, the son of William Walter and Mary Woods Cazier.
He married Edna Spencer on Feb. 14, 1945 at Sullivan, IL. and she survives.
Jay graduated from Shelbyville High School, and was a grain and livestock farmer his entire working life.
He was a member of the Moultrie County Historical Society, the Church of Christ in Sullivan, IL, and he enjoyed woodworking in his shop.But his wife and daughters, and their families, were the center of his world.
Surviving are his wife Edna, daughters, Eileen Tucker and her husband Jim of Quincy, IL, Carolsue Dettmer of Quincy and Janice Grosse of Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Jeffrey Tucker and wife Perrie of Lawrenceville, GA, Kathleen Kummetz and husband Mitchel of Greenwood, CO, Andrew James Dettmer of Quincy, Kimberly Dettmer of Quincy and Lindsey Grosse of Springfield, IL; great grandchildren, James Tucker, Laine Tucker, Adam Kummetz, Stephen Kummetz, Faith Kummetz, and Ethan Grosse Sewell, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dale Lee Cazier in infancy, granddaughter Kristina Grosse Sewell, parents, sisters, Francis Price and Mary Price and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday Mar. 18, 2012 in Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor.Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home..Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery.Memorials may be made to a fund for the Windsor Harvest Picnic or the Moultrie County Historical Society.
