James R. Carman, 83, of Windsor passed away at 12:24 p.m. Sunday (July 19, 2015) at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday July 26 in the Windsor Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor. Memorials may be made to the donorís choice.

He was born May 21, 1932 in Windsor the son of Wilbur and Elsie (Frizzell) Carman. He married Clarice Bash and she preceded him in death in 1995.

He graduated from Windsor High School in 1950 and then served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He then graduated from DeVry University in Chicago. He loved sports especially golf and basketball, fishing, the St. Louis Cardinals and he enjoyed nature.

Surviving are sisters, Katherine Elizabeth Ray and Patsy Bragg both of Windsor; nieces, Marla Robinson (Gary) of Bethany, Teresa Ray (Terry) of Sullivan and Tina Wright (Brian) of Windsor; nephew, Jerry Carman (Robyn) of Milltown, IN; great-niece, Halle Wright; great-nephews Heath Sims (Tera) and Hank Sims (Mary); great-great-nieces, Lillie Sims, Claire Sims and Taylor Sims.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Frank Carman.

The family would like to thank Courtyard Estates in Sullivan and the Mattoon Health Care Center for their kindness in the care of Jim.
