Gail Eileen Boldt, 93, of Stewardson passed away at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday (April 28,2015) in the Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 2 with visitation two hours prior to the funeral at the Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson. In lieu of plants and gifts, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the Trinity Lutheran School in Stewardson.

Gail was born May 5, 1921 in Stewardson, the daughter of Otis and Gertie (Roley) Shumard. She married L. Eugene Boldt on October 12, 1940 in Warrenton, MO and he preceded her in death October 29, 2009.

Gail was a homemaker and farm wife helping her husband farm. She was a member of the Second Street Church of Christ in Shelbyville. Gail was active in the community and served as a 4-H leader for 26 years. She also served on the State Farm Bureau Womenís Committee, was a charter member and organizer of the Stewardson National HistoricalSociety, was an active member of the Shelby County Homemakers Extension for many years, and served on the Prairie Township Election Board. She worked at the Hebron grocery store and managed Cassí grocery store in Strasburg. Gail also worked as bookkeeper for Strasburg FS Station for many years.

Surviving are son, Ronald (Carolyn) Boldt of Stewardson; daughters, Carol (Ron) Lading of Effingham and Connie Rosine of Strasburg; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Earl Shumard.
