Bertha E Miller, 80, of Mode died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday (June 11, 2011) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center, Coles Co.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Visitation will be one hour before service time. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery on the family farm near Gallagher Chapel.Memorials may be made to the Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago or the Church of the Nazarene, Shelbyville.
She was born October 16, 1930 in Shelbyville the daughter of Daniel W. and Anna (Roth) Schrock and grew up on a farm in Kalona, IA in a Mennonite community. She married Edward E. Miller April 2, 1950 in Shelbyville and he preceded her in death October 29, 2001.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Shelbyville and attended the Washington Methodist Church near Stewardson. She loved to garden, cook, read and was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her children, David Earl Miller (Pamela K.) of Shelbyville, Joyce Ann Randolph (Eugene) of Greenville, Dorothy S. Clawson (Steven) of Shelbyville, Timothy R. Miller of Mode and Richard Alan Miller (Christina J.) of Charleston; grandchildren, Darin E. Miller, Amy N. Miller, Kamala J. Randolph-Bandy, Casey G. Randolph, Cory D. Randolph, Karabeth A. Randolph- Ovenden, Brent D. Clawson, Derek G. Clawson, Alisa C. Richards, Joshua A. Richards, Heather M. Miller; great-grandchildren, Colton E. Miller, Collin E. Miller, CyraJo E. Miller, Aden F. Ovenden and Ethan F. Ovenden; brothers, Jacob W. Schrock and Howard V. Schrock, sisters, Bessie M. Swartzendruber, Lillie K. Thomas, Esther, M. Tidley and Lydia Ann Kennel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Calvin E. Miller, great- granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Ovenden, brothers, Raymond P. Schrock, Ervin Schrock, Edwin Schrock, Daniel A. Schrock, John D. Schrock, Elmer L. Schrock and Fred C. Schrock and sister, Mabel E. McKittrick.
