Jerralynn Arlene Black 78, of Decatur passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters at 7:55 a.m. Monday (May 19, 2014) at her daughter’s residence in Illiopolis.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Cowden. Visitation will be one hour before service time. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fayette County, IL. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Safe Haven Hospice, Lincoln, IL.
She was born July 13, 1935 in Wayne City, IL the daughter of Russell and Madoleon Leatha (Draper) Wood. She married George Black June 8, 1991 in Niantic and he preceded her in death April29, 2003.
She was formerly employed at Dairy Queen in South Shores and formerly was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church in Marseilles, IL. She loved crocheting, computers, collected lighthouses and loved cats, especially Speedy.
Surviving are her daughters, Donna Ramsey of Kentucky, Del Ramsey (Keith) of Braidwood, IL and Pam Thomas of Illiopolis, IL; step-children, Marla Fowler of California, Debra Odle (Glenn) of Pennsylvania and Philip Black of Peru, IL; brother, Russell Valjean Wood (Lois) of Grayville, IL; niece Valentina Winka of Flora, IL; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
