James Franklin Beck, 89, formerly of Cowden passed away Sunday (March 15, 2015) at the Ketcham Memorial Nursing Center in Odon, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Cowden. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Myers Cemetery, Herrick with military rites. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

He was born September 13, 1925,near Herrick the son of Ephrian and Hazel (Weaver) Beck. He married Lois Jane Hadley October 11, 1947 in Cowden.

He was a member of the Herrick Church of Christ and served in the US Navy during WW II on the USS Saratoga (CV-60)in the Pacific. He from NSWC Crane as a Civil Service employee.

Surviving are his wife Lois Jane, sons, Jerry Beck (Sherry) of Elnora, IN and Jeff Beck (Betty Ann) of Floyds Knobs, IN; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, James Nelson Beck, three sisters and two brothers.
