Everett Arthur Antrim 81 of Stewardson, IL, passed away at 7:00 PM Wednesday Sept. 8, 2010 in his home.
Everett was born Sept. 2, 1929 in Big Spring Township, Shelby County the son of Alonzo and Rosalie Bennett Antrim.
He married Carol Tutwiler in 1951.
Everett was a graduate of Toledo, IL High School and a United States Navy veteran having served his country during the Korean War.He was an animal lover, especially horses, and at one time in Florida he trained rescue dogs.
Formerly, Everett worked as a baggage handler on the railroad and later worked as an over-the-road truck driver.
Surviving him are children: Michael Wayne Antrim and wife Teri of Watson, IL, Patricia Nichols and husband David of Effingham, IL, John Ross Antrim and wife Lu Ann of Effingham, IL, Kevin Arthur Antrim of Effingham; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: William T. Antrim of Shumway, IL, Edith Gieslerof Altamont, IL, Betty Toops of Neoga, IL, Charles Antrim and wife Kay of Decatur, IL, Shelby Antrim and wife Erma of Taylorville, IL and Joan Lynch-Longworth and husband Art of Springfield, IL; many nieces and nephews, greatnieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Raymond Antrim, James Antrim, Donald Robert Antrim, Frank Antrim and Orville Antrim and sister Virginia Mack.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday Sept 13, 2010 in Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson.Pastor James Sporleder will officiate.Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of the service Monday Sept. 13 at the funeral home.Burial will be inArborcrest Cemetery Memorial Park with military rites.
